Exploring Our

Advisory Council

Advisory Council

Chicago Dance History Project’s paid working Advisory Council brings a critical combination of lived experience and conservation expertise that is reflective of the rich histories of dance in the city. Its work guides and informs CDHP’s community based collection best practices around oral histories, archiving, and place-based programming to ensure the equitable preservation and engagement with Chicago dance histories.

Between January through May of 2026 the council met virtually and in-person to share their expertise and help produce a detailed report of the ways in which CDHP can be a more equitable organization.

The council completed their work with CDHP in June 2026 and their report can be accessed below.

Leading the advisory council work is our Public and Community Engagement Manager, Liliana Macias, and assisting is Jenna Pollack, a Chicago United for Equity Fellow with CDHP.

The formation of the Advisory Council is supported by the ArtsWork Fund.
