Wilfredo Rivera
Wilfredo Rivera, a Honduras native, is a Latinx/e artist serving as a full-time director, choreographer & arts leader. He serves as Artistic Director for Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre Rivera and concurrently as Musical Theater Program Coordinator & Assistant Professor of Instruction for Columbia College Chicago. Rivera is the 2025 Creative Spirit Award recipient presented by Arts in the Dark & the City of Chicago, recognizing him as one of the most prolific and innovative creative professionals. This Fall he curated and produced the Inaugural Latinx/e Contemporary Movement Festival "...(This) event is so special; as it is the first of its kind in Chicago, and only one of a few nationwide...a program that spans themes of migration, queerness, ancestry, resilience and rebirth."
