Chicago native Gail Kalver began her career in the arts as a musician and performing arts organizer. She moved into arts administration at Ravinia Festival Association, and has worked impactfully in arts management for over 40 years. Kalver’s 23 years of executive leadership Hubbard Street Dance Chicago provided continuity to the company from 1984 to 2007. More recently, as an independent consultant, Kalver has worked with several dance organizations, including River North Dance Chicago, Dance for Life, Concert Dance, Inc., and the Auditorium Theatre. Kalver has served on several boards of directors, including 34 years on that of Chicago Dancers United; she's received many honors for her service to the community, including two Ruth Page Awards (1988 and 2007), the latter honoring her lifetime of achievement.
