Converse & Listen

Panel Discussions

Are you or your organization creating a panel discussion or round table which captures a distinct aspect of your organization’s contributions to the field of dance and that also may be of historical interest? If so, please contact us to begin a discussion as to how CDHP can support your efforts. Like with capturing Oral Histories (fully described in See Our Work/Oral Histories), we may elect to record, edit, transcribe, create metadata, and migrate that digital asset to the Newberry Library’s Midwest Dance Collection. Total cost to you = zero!

Have a Panel Suggestion?

CDHP invites voices in our dance community to suggest and discuss topics concerning our past, present, and future. Please connect with us to start the conversation!

1

How should I prepare for my session?

Plan your event like normal and we'll coordinate with your venue to answer questions we have about our recording setup.

2

What kinds of topics are acceptable to suggest?

Anything related to dance in Chicago is perfectly acceptable.

3

Can anyone propose a panel discussion?

Absolutely! As long as your event fits within our schedule, we're happy to discuss next steps.

4

Do I need to provide a venue for the panel discussion?

Please do! CDHP does not have a venue of our own, we only provide video documentation services.

5

Will I have access to the video afterwards?

Yes! Once we have the video edited together we will send you a link to download the video.

6

Can I re-upload the video on my social media?

Absolutely! Feel free to use the recording in whatever ways you'd like. We only request that you credit CDHP when you repost.
