Twan Twan, a first-generation Chicago Footwork practitioner, born and raised on Chicago’s south side, launched his own inspired dance practice at just five years old, performing to Michael Jackson on the Juke Box in his great grandmother's restaurant. He’s been dancing since then, nearly four decades later. As an early member of the House-O-Matics crew, Twan Twan helped define the foundation of Chicago Footwork, representing the House-O-Matics across countless performances, competitions, and media appearances, including 15 consecutive years in the Bud Billiken Parade, where the House-O-Matics won 11 out of 15 performance competitions. Beyond dance battles and parades, Twan Twan has also worked to bring house and juke music to Chicago’s radio airwaves, bringing the sound of the streets to a wider audience. Additional performance highlights include features on Fox 32, Channel 19, Chicago Slice, The Bozo Show, Dance For You, and WGCI radio; Twan Twan has shared stages with artists including Scarface, The Geto Boys, Ice Cube, and Dave Matthews, among others. Recognized for his discipline, creativity, and community commitment, Twan Twan continues to embody the heart of Chicago Footwork culture.
