Communications Manager

Maddie Lanasky is a 2020 graduate of James Madison University (JMU) with a double major in Dance and Media Arts and Design with a concentration in Interactive Design. While at JMU she had the pleasure of working with Abraham.In.Motion, DanceWorks Chicago, Rubén Graciani, and Matt Pardo. Upon moving to Chicago she trained at Common Conservatory, under the direction of Terence Marling, before joining South Chicago Dance Theatre, directed by Kia Smith, for their sixth season. Now in her third season with the company as an Associate Artist, Maddie has had the privilege of working with Tsai-Hsi Hung, Frank Chaves, Donald Byrd, Monique Haley, and Joshua Blake Carter. Maddie began her time with Chicago Dance History Project in the summer of 2021 as an intern and greatly enjoys combining her passions for dance, history, and community through the work she does.
