Susan Lee grew up studying dance in the suburbs of Chicago. With a BS in Dance and PhD in Educational Psychology, her work focuses on training students for a lifetime of working healthily in the field. She is the founding director of the Dance Program at Northwestern University as well as the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in the Arts there. Lee also founded the journal American Dance for the American Dance Guild and co-produced the first three Jazz Dance World Congresses. She is the author of numerous articles and chapters on dance and dancers.
