Regina Perry-Carr
Muntu Dance Theatre
Regina Perry-Carr -- dancer, choreographer, director, curator, producer, and Chicago native -- began her dance instruction with her mother, Regina Marie Taitts, and ballet instructor, Charlene Rose. She continued her training with Chicago dance companies Najwa Dance Corps and Muntu Dance Theatre. Officially joining the professional ranks of Muntu in 1998, Perry-Carr would become one of their principal dancers and, later, the Dance Theatre's Artistic Director. With over 30 years of training and 24 years of teaching, Perry-Carr has continued African Dance performance and instruction nationally and internationally, most currently dancing and teaching with Movin' Legacy, based in St. Louis, MO.
