Born in Cuba and raised in New York City, Eduardo Vilaro began dancing with Ballet Hispanico in 1985, where he was a principle dancer for 9 years. Vilaro relocated to Chicago in 1999 to pursue an MA in Interdisciplinary Arts at Columbia College. Here he founded Luna Negra Dance Theater and served as the company's artistic director. In 2009, Vilaro returned to Ballet Hispanico to succeed that company's founding Artistic Director, Tina Ramirez, in the same position.
