Donald "Don" Stallworth
House of Wurkz
Don is a first-generation footwork practitioner firmly based in Chicago’s west side. Known for his role in House of Wurks, Don has been a defining figure in the city’s dance scene since 1994. From his early days with Stone Cold 94 and Phaze Squad, through the founding of Dynamic Destruction in 1999, to his leadership within the quickly ascendant dance group House of Wurkz, Don has helped shape the artistry, structure, and community that continue to define Chicago Footwork. While many dancers built their reputations through battles, Don advanced through performance, appearing in countless showcases across the city including events at Garfield Park and on The Oprah Winfrey Show. With influence reaching beyond Chicago, Don performed at Showtime at the Apollo and appeared on broadcast McDonald’s commercials. Don is recognized as a mentor to many, extending his influence well into contemporary, third-generation Footwork culture; his commitment to teaching, performing, and preserving the culture has made him one of Chicago Footwork’s most respected and enduring figures.
