Experience the premiere of Field: New Ground, a new work by legendary choreographer Bebe Miller, a visionary artist whose impact on contemporary dance is unparalleled. Alongside this debut, we proudly present the reimagining of Written on the Flesh, a landmark piece by our Founding Artistic Director and CEO, Vershawn Sanders-Ward. Created in 2016, Written on the Flesh posed the urgent question, “What is the residue of elegant racism, and how is it written on the flesh?” This new restaging takes the inquiry even deeper, drawing inspiration from Isabel Wilkerson’s thought-provoking book Caste. In Wilkerson’s words, “As we go about our daily lives, caste is the wordless usher in a darkened theater, flashlight cast down in…
