Patti Vickerman began her career at age 5 as part of a vaudeville act with her father, called Jimmy Byrnes and Patti. They toured and performed both nationally and internationally. Previously, Vickerman had been a student of Steve Condos in Florida. Though she left the act at age 20, Vickerman’s career in tap dance persisted. She owned and operated a dance school in the Chicago suburbs and performed in the early years of Especially Tap Chicago while maintaining a career as an emergency room nurse.
The Patti Vickerman Collection contains materials such as news clippings, photographs, and promotional material that primarily relates to her time as part of the duo, Jimmy Byrnes and Patti. Other miscellaneous items relate to her performances with Especially Tap Chicago.
