MORT KESSLER

Mort Kessler began dancing with Gus Giordano after a chance encounter with his wife, Peg, in his downtown hair salon. Kessler and the other four founding members of Giordano Dance Chicago, originally named Dance Incorporated Chicago, became the first jazz company to travel to the Soviet Union. Over 40 years later, he is still a part of the company, serving as a member of the Advisory Board.

August 08, 2017: Mort Kessler describes his roles as a dancer in Gus Giordano's original jazz dance company as well as the many tasks he performed behind the scenes  to help operate the studio in Evanston.
