ISHMAEL HOUSTON-JONES

Ishmael Houston-Jones, from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, is a choreographer, improviser, performer, teacher, and curator based in New York City. He curated the Parallels series in 1982, 1985, and 2012. In Chicago, he was presented in Chicago's Moveable Beast series, choreographed a piece for Mordine & Company, and performed in Relations with Ralph Lemon and Bebe Miller. Houston-Jones is the recipient of multiple Bessie awards and numerous grants and fellowships.
