Frank Chaves is a choreographer originally from Cuba. Serving as the Artistic Director of River North Dance Chicago for 23 years, Chaves produced over 20 original works for the company before retiring in 2015, and is currently focusing solely on his choreography.

 

As a performer, he danced with Ballet Concerto of Miami, New York's Ballet Hispanico, Giordano Dance Chicago, and spent six years dancing with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. In 2014, Chaves was named the “Chicagoan of the Year in Dance” by the Chicago Tribune.
